Equality

Everyone is welcome at the table — regardless of background, belief or circumstance.

About

Why equality matters

Mental health struggles do not discriminate — but access to support often does. People from minority backgrounds, those facing poverty, disability or discrimination often find it harder to get the help they need. Some feel unwelcome in faith spaces. Others feel unseen in mainstream mental health services.

Lifted Life is a Christian charity, but our service is for everyone. We believe every human carries the image of God, and our equality commitment flows from that belief.

What equality means here

  • Open to all faiths and none. We serve people with equal dignity and respect, whatever they believe or don’t believe.
  • Recognising intersections. We understand how mental health can be affected by race, class, disability, gender, sexuality, immigration status and more — and we refuse to ignore those realities.
  • Legal compliance. We work in line with the Equality Act 2010 and our own internal policies on inclusion and anti-discrimination.

In practice

  • Diverse content. Music and programming that reflect a range of cultures and backgrounds, not just one style or community.
  • Zero tolerance. Hate speech, discrimination or harassment have no place in any Lifted Life space.
  • Intentional inclusion. We actively invite voices from different communities and lived experiences — not as tokens, but as valued contributors.

A table with room for everyone

We don’t pretend to have it all figured out. Equality is a journey, not a destination. But we are committed to learning, listening and making Lifted Life a place where anyone struggling can find hope — without having to leave part of themselves at the door.

“We believe every human carries the image of God, and our equality commitment flows from that belief.”
