Equality & Inclusion

Committed to eliminating discrimination and promoting equality — because mental health struggles don’t discriminate, and neither should support.

About

Our legal framework

Lifted Life Charity operates in full accordance with the Equality Act 2010. This means we are committed to eliminating discrimination, advancing equality of opportunity and fostering good relations between people of different characteristics.

But for us, equality is not just about legal compliance. It is about recognising that the people we serve come from many different backgrounds, and that barriers to mental health support are often higher for those who already face discrimination or disadvantage.

What we commit to

  • No discrimination. We do not discriminate on the basis of age, disability, gender reassignment, marriage and civil partnership, pregnancy and maternity, race, religion or belief, sex, or sexual orientation.
  • Equal access. Our services are available to everyone, regardless of background, circumstance or ability to pay.
  • Diverse representation. We actively seek diverse voices in our content, volunteer team and leadership — not as tokens, but as valued contributors whose perspectives strengthen our work.
  • Reasonable adjustments. We make reasonable adjustments to ensure accessibility for people with disabilities — in our digital spaces, our events and our communications.

Faith and inclusion

We are a Christian charity, and our faith shapes everything we do. But our support is offered without conditions. We welcome people of all faiths and none, and we respect each person’s spiritual journey — including those who are questioning, doubting or angry with God.

We believe that every human being is made in the image of God, and that belief compels us to treat everyone with dignity, regardless of whether they share our faith.

Zero tolerance

We have zero tolerance for hate speech, discrimination or harassment in any Lifted Life space — on air, online or in person. Anyone experiencing or witnessing such behaviour should report it immediately to our team.

“Every person is made in the image of God and deserves to be treated with dignity and respect.”
